Information of Senggigi, Lombok Indonesia. Wherever
your direction comes to, once your feet firstly step
on Lombok Island, you will recognize Senggigi as a

Senggigi Beach Sunset

Senggigi on Travel :
Upon arriving at Airport, we drive you to direction
where the sun goes down approximately 7 KM to
western part. Your sight will see that the Lombok
Highway has ordinary Transportation, which is pulled
by Horse Cart called “ Cidomo” and even the modern
vehicles go thru it, the existence of cidomo along
the tiny roads of Mataram and senggigi is really
needed by its people considering not the whole road
at the corner of Mataram and senggigi will be
reached by car. This sight will be seen at first
after pick-up transportation is driving along Kebun
Roeq Traditional Market, which offers a simple
manual transaction of Lombok People to fulfill their
daily need.
After going thru the northern part with plantation
scenery and cape lines at the seashore on the top of
it, there is a sacred local cemetery of Batu Layar.
Less than 1 KM afterwards, you will find a temple on
the rocky cape at Batu Layar seashore called “ Batu
Bolong Temple”. Not far afterwards, you will be
heading to Senggigi Area and if you still have a
little time to go around in next KM, you will be
simply impressed by gorgeous view with fresh and
breezing air from the hills near the beach along the
road heading to Mangsit Village, a village which is
decorated by coconut palm trees and a bit further to
north of is a place where the Green Panorama and the
Blue Sea Water are strongly united under tropical
sunshine which always offer you a warm greeting of
nature.
GETTING AROUND
Coming from Airport, taxi service available at the
counter desk of the arrival gate. Fares are fixed.
Coming from Lembar Harbour, you can pre-order a
metered taxi service (Lombok Taxi tel: 627000 or
Lendang Express Taxi tel: 644444).
There are plenty of activities you can do to
complete your holiday. Sightseeing or touring
organized by reputable local tour operators is the
best option to discover what Lombok has to offer.
Renting a car or motor cycle is also good
alternative to get around, either self-driving, or
with a driver so you can relax and enjoy the view.
Car rental in Lombok is more expensive than Bali.
Tip driver pocket money for meals if you stop for
lunch or diner. If you are pleased with service, tip
the driver or local guide at the end. If you collide
with anything, or it collides with you, you are
responsible for all costs.
Self drive cars are available in Senggigi and
Mataram. You must have a valid Tourist, Indonesian
or International Driving License. Test drive the car
before paying in advanced. Take the Insurance
coverage for vehicle damages. Book a car through
reputable Car rental which includes insurance
coverage in the price. TRAC (Toyota Rent a Car)
located near Mataram Airport if you wish to get a
good condition (well maintained) of car + full
insurance.

Senggigi Post Office is located on the main street
of Senggigi, opposite from Pamour Art & Antique
shop. Health Centre or Puskesmas located near Hotel
Puri Saron. Drugstore or Apotik available next to
the gate of Intan Lombok Hotel. Dentist available at
Meninting Puskesmas 10 minutes drive from Senggigi
towards direction to the airport.
Bank BNI available during office hours 5 days a week
located near the Post Office. ATM's (Automatic
Teller Machine) are easy to find. ATM BCA, ATM BNI,
ATM Mandiri are available, you can swift your credit
card and withdraw local currency IDR (Rupiah).
Police office located in Senggigi Art Market, near
The Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort. Telephone
Service (Wartel) available near Melati Dua Hotel.
Internet Cafes are: Millennium Internet (opposite
Papaya Restaurant) with dedicated broadband speed at
reasonable rates and Star Internet Service located
in Senggigi Plaza . Cellular phone in Indonesia is
GSM and CDMA. If you have brought your cellular hand
phone, you can purchase prepaid calling cards to
make outgoing calls at lower cost than calling on
your home SIM. Shops which sell these cards are
prolific. Major service providers are: Telkomsel,
Satelindo and XL Ritel. Look for signs and banners
with those markings.
Money changers are available almost in every corner
of Senggigi. Double count your money before leaving
the money changers to get the accurate amount. Hotel
reception also change foreign money with lower
rates.
Mini markets are located next to Bank BNI and near
the Papaya Cafe.
Local Indonesian Foods sells nasi campur and warung
Padang can be found right opposite from Taman
Restaurant and another one is Rumah Makan Senang
next to Bank BNI. During the night time, you can
find the famous Nasi Goreng at Warung Cak Poer.
Tipping
Most larger hotels and restaurants automatically add
Government Tax and Service charge up to 21% to the
bill. Tipping is expected in main tourist area, but
you're not compelled to tip at restaurants. If you
like your driver or local tour guide, a tip of
10-15% is appreciated. Carry small changes with you
as taxi drivers often have none. Airport or hotel
porters expect Rp. 5000 - 50,000 per bag depending
on the size and weights.
Disabled
Wheel chair ramps and van lifts are non existent.
Many major hotels have limited handicapped
facilities and accommodation. Advise your tour
operators or hotel for special assistance.
PLACES TO EAT IN SENGGIGI
There are numbers of good quality of restaurants and
small cafes in central town of Senggigi. You can eat
pretty well in Senggigi with reasonable price. Most
of the places to stay have their own restaurant, but
few other eateries along the main road in the centre
of the strip are worth to try. There's not much at
bottom end of the scale.
Locals warungs seems to be priced out. Senggigi area
is developing and there are some new foreign
investors take over some places to upgrade its
facilities. Old places renovated or branded new, and
several new places coloring the main street of
Senggigi.
Tips & suggestions:
If you like the Italian food like pizza from wood
oven, try Basillico Restaurant in Senggigi Beach
Hotel, exotic place to have dinner while enjoying
the sunset.
This restaurant located in the beach area of
Senggigi Beach Hotel. Cafe Alberto is also a great
place to chill out with Italian specialties, a bit
better, and a bit pricier than standard tourist
fare.
For the more romantic atmosphere, try also Cafe
Cofee Corner Located in Cental of Senggigi beside of
Happy Cafe Restaurant and Alang alang Restaurant,
located in Mangsit near Purimas Boutique Hotel.
South of the town centre, hiding from the central of
activities, Cafe Wayan, related to the famous Cafe
Wayan Ubud (Bali) which is recommended for its
chicken curry and homemade bread and yummy dessert.
If you are a family traveling together, try Asmara
Restaurant near the Art Market of Senggigi which has
high quality of European Food.
If you like local Indonesian foods, try also Nasi
Goreng at Warung Cak Poer. Open from 19:00PM till
late night. Closed during the day time. More
excellent quality Indonesian foods are available in
Mataram City at very reasonable rates. Taxi service
available 24 hours.
Most restaurants and cafes offer free roundtrip pick
up service from and to hotels anywhere in senggigi
area.
SENGGIGI LOMBOK - NIGHTLIFE
Senggigi offers a lot of kind of excitement and fun.
Most hotels in Senggigi usually offer their guest
with daily live entertainment, from cultural shows
to live acoustic music from locals trios. This
regular entertainment accompanying the Buffet
offered by hotel's restaurant.
Senggigi is also become a favorite place for wealthy
locals from Mataram, Ampenan and Cakranegara to
spend weekend with family or friends.
Happy Cafe, Marina Pubs, Papaya Cafe have live music
on occasions with locals band doing good rock from
the oldiest-goldiest to the on demand today's music.
Most expats and locals socialize and have fun
together. In the busy season, they can all get
crowded by tourists and locals. Some pubs with
techno music and discos open from 12:00PM till
morning.
Places like Sahara Club, Gossip (previously named
Tropicana), The Marleys, requires you to dress
casually and visitors must pay entrance fee to
enter. Most places are free of charge. No advanced
reservation required. First come first served. For
guest who wish to celebrate an anniversary and need
require a pre-decorated table, an advanced
reservation may required.

Senggigi Lombok is a place for travelers who seeking
for quite settings and fun at the same time. Nice
beaches, friendly and warm people, cheap places to
stay and eat and beautiful natural landscape are the
highlights of Lombok. Senggigi is much more welcome
for tourist of all ages. Even though Lombok island
is majority dominated by Sasak Moslems, but
alcoholic drinks are quite easy to find in any bars
or cafes in major tourist places like senggigi or
the gilis.

from all over the world. Act responsibly and use
condoms, available over the counter at pharmacies.
Entertainment
Sunset start at 06:15 PM in Lombok. There is no time
different between Bali and Lombok. Sunset at the
beach with a drink at one of the beach bar could be
a good fun to do after a full day tour or water
activities.
After a good drink and meals, many visitors are
happy to have a chat and enjoy another drink and a
stroll in a cool evening air. There is also
selection of a more sophisticated nightspot in
Senggigi where the ambience is more relaxed and the
music can be good - much of it from locals band.
Sugar Cafe and Bar is a "Gay Friendly" Bar in
Senggigi. Once a week during the busy season they
have cabaret shows.
Bars are usually free to enter, and often have
special drinks promotion and happy hours from 07 -
09PM. One of the most popular place to party is
Marina Pub with live music, young crowd and lots of
